EUSR Scheme
At Staffordshire Operator Training we are accredited with the EUSR scheme, this enables us to train and assess on the Plant for Utilities Scheme (PLUS) categories.
Candidates wishing to be entered on to the independent skills register can do so from the choice of categories below:
- Lorry Loader (categories 1 & 2)

- 360° mini excavator (up to 5 tonnes)
- Front Loading Dumper
- Utility Banksman / Signaller
Dependant on your chosen category course durations vary from 2-4 days. During the time spent at our centre candidates will receive classroom based theory training and then to a larger extent practical training.
Training will ensure candidates to acquire the skills, knowledge and understanding to safely operate the above machines. Training is available for both the novice and experienced operator. They will cover the same learning material and assessments but course duration will differ.
On completion of the training, participants will be able to identify the main components on the machine and their function, Use controls appropriately and be able to read dials and gauges, Carry out static and running checks in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions for best practice and Reference information and follow instructions detailed in the machine operator’s handbook, Carry out pre use and running checks prior to commencing operations, Manoeuvre plant safely on site, Demonstrate good understanding of recognised hand signals and keep within safe working parameters.
Other objectives will vary on the machine category chosen.
Candidates booking on to EUSR will also receive a CSCS Health & Safety Touchscreen Test.
