Please take time to read this short guide.  It will put you at ease and explain the NVQ Induction process step by step.

Step 1 – Time and Location
Your NVQ induction may have been arranged directly with the centre or it may have been via your employer.  Either way we will ensure the time and location of your Induction fits in with your work schedule and personal commitments.

Many candidates prefer to attend the centre for their Induction.  We are however, happy to arrange on site Inductions.

We have Assessors covering most areas of the UK and they are more than happy to arrange Weekend / Evening appointments.

Step 2 – On Arrival
If you are attending the centre you will be greeted by a member of the team, this may not be the assessor assigned to you at this stage but don’t worry you will have an introduction later.

Please make sure you bring along the following –

National Insurance Number
Passport Photograph
CPCS Card and other evidence of achievement (if available)

If you have requested an on site Induction, your Assessor will contact you directly.

Step 3 – Funding Paperwork
A member of the team will check funding availability and help you complete the paperwork.  The initial funding paperwork takes approximately thirty minutes to complete and includes a short numeracy and literacy assessment. 

The remaining funding paperwork will be completed by your assessor.

If funding is not an option, we will discuss payment plans available to you.

Step 4 – IAG & NVQ Guide
You will now have the opportunity to read about the Award you are registering for and the support available at our centre.  A team member will be happy to go through it with you, if you prefer. 

Step 5 – Registering & Getting Started
Your assessor will explain how to gather evidence towards your Award and discuss any learning/support needs they have identified during your initial assessment.

The centre’s policies and procedures, including:-
Health & Safety, Appeals and Equal Opportunities will be explained and copies retained in your personal portfolio.

You will now be registered for your award

Step 6 – Action Plan
This is the last step!  Your Assessor will discuss the assessment methods available.  When and where you plan to meet next and review the day’s Induction.

Remember, this is your Award.  Our Assessor’s and NVQ team are here to help you achieve, please let us know if we can support you in a way not identified during your induction.
